The story of I Trulli di Uma began in 2020, when our family was searching for a small property in the Alto Salento area. We wanted to recover something authentic — something that would tell the true soul of Puglia. The moment we saw the trullo, we fell in love with it.

Over time, what started as a hobby grew into something much bigger. We had the opportunity to expand the property by building the Villa, always careful to respect and enhance the surrounding environment. We restored the traditional dry-stone walls, and lovingly tended to the magnificent plants that inhabit this corner of Puglia: centuries-old olive trees, younger olive trees, almond trees, fig trees and prickly pears.

Recently we acquired a Saracen trullo in the adjacent plot, which we are currently renovating — a new chapter in our story.

And Uma? Uma is our adorable French bulldog, born in the very days we purchased the trullo. Naming this place after her was the most natural choice in the world — she is the soul of this place, just as much as we are.
